The daughter of a cherish-mother and a livestock-trading venerable man , songstress Loreena McKennitt studied classical pianoforte and vocal training, and learned to figured and rhythmic motion in the highland style as a younker. Her love of traditional music was strengthened in the folk clubs of Winnipeg, which she frequented during the brief date she studied veterinary science at the University of Manitoba.
